With a unique energy characteristic of both his music and personal disposition, Marty Dickerson is challenging the stereotype of songwriters in this era. A powerful R&B influenced voice leads this guitarist's musical sensibility into the territories of Rock, R&B, Reggae, African music and Jazz all within melodic accessibility of modern popular music.
Marty is a Baltimore-based musician who constantly changes his dynamic by stretching the bounds of his performing ability where every show is a unique experience through his obvious love of improvisation. Whether solo with an acoustic guitar or in tandem with his band, his love of the greatest writers and lyricists inspire his lyrical varieties of love, social awareness, and descriptive storytelling. His performances leave people seeing a range of comedic entertainment, passionate musical creation and loud, raunchy energy making crowds just want to dance.
All within 2008 and 2009, Marty Dickerson performed over 200 times within the Baltimore and surrounding Maryland regions. After years of performing in local bands, he took time to study Jazz at Towson University and garner another degree in Recording Engineering & Audio Production. Raised in a suburb just outside of Washington, D.C. and being born in a family of mixed racial backgrounds caused him to explore the melting pot from which he was surrounded on a daily basis. In the future, he hopes to explore his love of world rhythms, improvisation, hip hop and even D.C.'s native Go-Go sound into his musical performances.
